South Korea

Eversight proudly partners with surgeons and healthcare leaders throughout South Korea to advance our mission.

Our mission began in 1947 with the establishment of the fourth eye bank in the United States, then known as the Illinois Eye-Bank. In 1985, it merged with the Michigan Eye-Bank to form the Midwest Eye Banks. From then on, other regional eye banks merged to form one of the largest networks of eye banks in the United States; Eversight. In 2015, Eversight established the first US-owned and operated eye bank outside of the United States in South Korea.

In 2023, Eversight’s South Korea team provided for a record 930 sight-restoring cornea transplants. In addition, Eversight provided 2,933 tissues for sight-saving surgeries in other countries around the world.
