Connecticut

Eversight is the sole eye bank serving Connecticut and proudly partners with New England Donor ServicesLions Clubs, surgeons, businesses and philanthropists throughout the state to advance our mission.

Before Eversight became the sole eye bank serving the state of Connecticut, the Connecticut Eye Bank & Visual Research Foundation, founded in 1961, served Connecticut residents for decades until it merged with Eversight in 2015, helping to create one of the largest networks of eye banks in the United States: Eversight.

In 2023, we had the honor of working with the families of 615 Connecticut residents who gave the gift of sight for transplantation, research and education as cornea donors. 312 people in the state received sight-restoring transplants as a result of these selfless acts.

New England Donor Services (NEDS)

NEDS works with nearly 200 hospitals and serves 14 million people in its region, screening nearly 50,000 potential donor referrals annually. NEDS’ staff allocates organs according to the national transplant waiting list and directs transport of organs to transplant centers and tissues to trusted partners, like Eversight.

Through our partnership with NEDS, we have developed the systems, staffing and processes that allow us to better serve all organ, eye and tissue donors, families and recipients in Connecticut and beyond.
