An urgent appeal to our fellow Lions, Lioness and Leos
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect us all. Eversight’s highest priority is the safety of our staff, our surgeons and their patients, our donor families and volunteers and you—our partners in restoring sight and preventing blindness.
On March 18, the American Academy of Ophthalmology issued a statement that “all ophthalmologists should cease providing any treatment other than urgent or emergent care immediately.” The impact on our ability to provide tissue was immediate and severe, as is the financial impact on our organization.
We have implemented a plan to remain viable so that we are able to provide for surgeons and their patients when this crisis ends. We are thinking every day about the thousands of patients forced to endure this crisis with failing sight or blindness, unable to receive corneal transplants until the restrictions on elective surgeries are lifted.
Thank you for giving what you can. Your generous support will help ensure access to the gift of sight when cornea transplant surgeries resume—when we emerge from this extraordinary time together.
There are multiple ways to provide hope for our future.
- Make your club’s annual donation by fiscal year end (June 30) for 2020 Sight Leader recognition.
- Make another special gift as your situation allows.
- Share our cause with family and friends—sponsor a Facebook fundraiser.
- Become a Sustainer for Sight, to commit monthly support at any level.
Please reach out to us at email@example.com or (800) 247-7250, ext. 2616. if you have questions about how you can help.
Each year, Eversight recognizes its Lions Sight Leaders. These are Lions Clubs that contribute $3,000 or more during the Lions’ fiscal year—an amount that helps offset Eversight’s cost of recovering and preparing a donated cornea for sight-restoring transplant.
Sight Leader clubs receive an exclusive yearly patch for their club banner. Clubs that contribute between $500 and $2,999 receive an annual Sight Supporters pin
Ensure your club’s recognition as a leader for restored sight. Confirm your gift today.
