Join the 21st Annual Gift of Sight Celebration on Oct. 24 at The Peninsula Chicago

Chicago Philanthropist Sherry Lea Holson, Eye Surgeon David M. Lubeck to be Honored at ‘Mystery Masquerade’ Benefiting Sight Restoration

Update 10/23/19: Preview the silent and live auction packages available!

CHICAGO, Aug. 13, 2019 — Chicago’s business and civic communities will gather Oct. 24 to celebrate philanthropist Sherry Lea Holson as its 2019 Woman of Vision and surgeon David M. Lubeck, M.D., as its 2019 Gift of Sight honoree at the Gift of Sight Mystery Masquerade, Chicago’s 21st annual event to raise funds that transform lives through sight restoration and blindness prevention.

Proceeds benefit Eversight, the nonprofit organization established in Chicago in 1947 to meet the critical need for sight restoration. The Gift of Sight celebration is the largest annual fundraiser for Eversight’s Gift of Sight Fund, providing financial aid to individuals who cannot afford the cost of a cornea transplant and supporting humanitarian efforts to cure blindness.

In 2018, Eversight provided the gift of sight to more than 8,000 people across the United States and around the world. Eversight also works with researchers and institutions such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Cleveland Clinic to advance vision science and eye banking practices to improve patient outcomes, as well as find cures for blinding eye diseases like diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.

Co-chaired by Michael Caputo and Candace Jordan, the night of intrigue will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24 at the majestic Peninsula Chicago followed by a silent auction, fine dining, music and surprises. Attire is chic and unique; masks are encouraged.
