My brother Todd was a free spirited, independent man who was always generous. He believed firmly in organ and tissue donation, saying “if I don’t need it anymore, might as well give it to someone who does.” He loved his independence, living in his own house, running his own mechanic business, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He also loved his dog, Roxie. At the age of 56, he died suddenly of a heart attack, leaving a void in so many lives. At his memorial service, I was overwhelmed by the stories of Todd’s generosity in life. How fitting that in his death, he gave of himself as well. Todd would be thrilled to know that sight was restored for someone through his tissue donation. Through you, he rides on!
