Eyes That Saw the World – and Gave It Back

A tribute from Faye, Kathy's daughter

My mom had the most beautiful eyes—clear, kind, and full of quiet curiosity. They had seen the streets of her hometown in Royal Oak, Michigan, and wandered through sunlit moments in the Virgin Islands and Germany. Those eyes had watched her family grow, laughed through shared stories, and softened in compassion whenever someone needed it.

When she passed, she donated her eyes, and I recently learned that a man and a woman in New York can now see because of her. That gift means so much. It brings me peace to know that the eyes that held so much love and memory are still seeing the world—just from a new perspective.

Thank you, Eversight, for honoring her legacy. Her eyes continue to witness life, just as she would have wanted.

With deep gratitude,
Faye
