In Memory of Dion

A tribute from Anita Totty, Dion's sister

“Eversight” is a non-profit company that donors and families support to restore sight and prevent blindness made possible by donations to help millions of people. Our family originally donated Dion’s eyes to “Eversight.” However, due to restrictive clinical criteria, they were unable to use his eye tissue. Therefore, we donated $1,000 in memory of Dionysus H. Varner. The doctors predicted that Dion wouldn’t live beyond 8 years old because of his developmental delay and physical disability known as Down Syndrome. Oh, but God said “60 years!” God certainly set Dion apart. Dion was never sick, ill, or hurt until the year 2020…at the age of 59 when he was diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer. His unique smile will remain in our hearts forever. Please visit eversightvision.org for more information. Your generous donations will help us help others see. Do you see what I see? Hopefully, the answer is “yes.”
