Arturo Longoria

A tribute from Karen Covington, Arturo's loving partner

A selfless gift from a selfless soul

Art was someone I spoke to on the phone before we actually met in person. His voice was the kindest I had ever heard. On our first date, I saw the outward source of his kindness—his eyes. I often thought what beautiful, kind, soft eyes he had. He was a pure joy to be around and I couldn’t be any happier that we found each other, fell in love and had just over four years of pure happiness together.

Art was a kind and gentle soul. He was the type of person who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He always put others first. He was an animal lover, lover of nature and of life. My heart broke when he was taken from us at such a young age on Jan. 7, 2020, but I find comfort though that he was able to give the gift of sight to two individuals. I can’t think of a better legacy.

You are missed with every breath I take. You are missed by so many—your Ohio family and friends and Texas family and friends. You are so loved.
