“It’s been an honor to partner with Eversight and witness their impact throughout the Midwest for many years.”

Three vision giants come together to support sight restoration in Central Illinois

On July 23, 2022, Gailey Eye Clinic, Illinois Eye Center and VisionPoint Eye Center unite to celebrate the Gift of Sight at Eversight’s Night for Sight event.

These three vision care providers are staples in the Central Illinois community, serving clients daily to help restore and maintain their eyesight. Their support for Night for Sight is a testament to Eversight’s important work in making life-changing cornea transplants possible in the Central Illinois community and beyond.

“It’s been an honor to partner with Eversight and witness their impact throughout the Midwest for many years,” said Tom Resitvo, Administrator, Gailey Eye Clinic. “Gailey Eye Clinic shares in their mission to prevent blindness and restore sight through compassionate patient care. We consider it a privilege to transform lives by making vision a reality for our patients, alongside Eversight here in Central Illinois.

All three companies work together with Eversight every year to make vision a reality for Central Illinois patients suffering from preventable blindness.

“My patients and I are both so grateful for Eversight’s work to secure donated cornea tissue and also for the donors and their families who make these sight-saving cornea transplants possible,” said Catharine Crockett, MD, Vision Point Eye Center. “VisionPoint is honored to support our only regional eye bank through Night for Sight and we look forward to raising even more funds this year.”

Night for Sight takes place at the beautiful Epiphany Farms Estates and is held to raise support for Eversight’s Dr. John E. Randolph Memorial Fund, which provides financial assistance for Central Illinois patients unable to afford sight-restoring transplants.

“Illinois Eye Center remains committed to supporting Eversight in its mission to help preserve vision, not only through financially supporting the Night for Sight event, but also by trusting Eversight to supply the essential tissue needed for those patients requiring sight-saving surgery,” said cornea specialist Evan Pike, MD, Co-owner of Illinois Eye Center. “Eversight has been a valued partner for years, and we look forward to continuing our long-lasting relationship for years to come!"

Night for Sight raffle sale proceeds will benefit the Noah Moore Scholarship Fund to support professional development opportunities for Eversight processing technicians in Illinois in memory of Noah Moore.

“We are so glad to have these key partners joining us once again for a magical evening in support of the Central Illinois community,” said Marta Garczarczyk, Philanthropy Director, Eversight. “Thanks to their generosity, we expect to be able to raise enough at Night for Sight to completely cover the costs of 25 cornea transplants for those in Central Illinois who may otherwise not be able to afford this transformative surgery.”

The Night for Sight silent auction is open through 8:45 p.m. CT Saturday, July 23.
