Grant from The Provident Bank Foundation will support Eversight's sight-restoring services in New Jersey.

Eversight receives grant from The Provident Bank Foundation

CLARK, N.J., November 2, 2022Eversight, a nonprofit eye bank dedicated to restoring sight and preventing blindness worldwide through donation, transplantation and research, has been awarded a $5,000 grant from The Provident Bank Foundation to support cornea tissue recovery, preparation and placement for sight-saving transplants in New Jersey. This grant will ensure that local cornea donors and their families are able to give the gift of sight to people in need of cornea transplants or contribute to critical eye and vision research.

“Eversight’s community partners play a vital role in supporting our work to bring sight to those in need,” said Diane Hollingsworth, Eversight president/CEO. “We are grateful to The Provident Bank Foundation for their generous dedication to our mission and look forward to continuing to work together to support New Jerseyans.”

In 2021, Eversight worked with the families of 726 New Jersey residents who gave the gift of sight as eye tissue donors for cornea transplantation, vision research and clinical education. That same year, Eversight provided tissues for transplant that restored sight to 410 New Jersey residents.

“We are pleased to help further valuable initiatives put forth by local organizations who are working every day to strengthen the lives of residents in our communities,” said Samantha Plotino, executive director of The Provident Bank Foundation. “We will continue to provide support to these important organizations that have identified an immediate need in the community and for the individuals they serve.”

The Provident Bank Foundation was established in 2003 with the intent of supporting not-for-profit groups, institutions, schools and other 501(c)(3) organizations that provide valuable services to the communities served by Provident Bank.
