CHICAGO, April 1, 2022 — The Grainger Foundation awarded Eversight a grant at the end of 2021 to support general operations. This gift will help transform the lives of cornea transplant recipients, donors and their families in Illinois and beyond who benefit from Eversight’s research and innovations.
Last year, Eversight worked with the families of 6,605 eye donors to give the gift of sight to 8,595 people across the United States and abroad. Eversight also worked with donors to provide 3,441 tissues to advance research and clinical knowledge. This gift from the Grainger Foundation will ensure Eversight can continue to provide the gift of sight to more than 8,000 people in 2022.
“Eversight is proud to advance its mission to restore sight and prevent blindness through the healing power of donation, transplantation and research,” said Marta Garczarczyk, Philanthropy Director, Eversight. “The Grainger Foundation’s support is instrumental in giving hope to Illinois residents living with vision impairment, and meaning to donor families who have suffered the loss of a selfless loved one.”
The Grainger Foundation is an independent private foundation based in Lake Forest, Ill. The foundation provides substantive support to a broad range of organizations including educational, medical, cultural and human services institutions.
