CHICAGO, Nov. 7, 2023 – The Grainger Foundation has awarded Eversight a $5,500 grant to support general operations. This gift will help transform the lives of cornea transplant recipients, donors and their families in Illinois and beyond.
In 2022, Eversight worked with the families of 1,760 Illinois residents who gave the gift of sight as eye donors to benefit vision transplantation, research and education. Local surgeons relied on Eversight to provide 1,269 tissues for safe transplantation for Illinois patients in need.
“Eversight recovers, prepares and provides donated eye tissue for more than 7,500 sight restoring corneal transplants every year in Illinois and around the world,” said Marta Garczarczyk, Philanthropy Director, Eversight. “The Grainger Foundation’s support is instrumental in continuing that impact while giving hope and restoring independence to Illinois residents living with vision impairment.”
The Grainger Foundation is an independent private foundation based in Lake Forest, Ill. The foundation provides substantive support to a broad range of organizations including educational, medical, cultural and human services institutions.
